Fakedown Blog Exclusive: From The Inside

Do any of you people know what it's like to know something before everyone else? I do. Due to my unique position as the most connected person on the internet, someone who has multiple often times given news that nobody else knows in the unique fashion I am known for with knowing things before a lot of people know them.

Since I haven't been out to any shows lately not that anyone would bother going to shows now since Railroad Earth's ability to be a a band which was never a bluegrass group, rather an Americana-folk rock jam band who could play bluegrass better than most bluegrass playing bands who like bluegrass but were still able to sound like themselves and even more so progressively than an progressive band is not on tour and Furthur isnt playing for a while or at least in any state I have ever heard of today's blog is going to be about inside scoops Ive successfully reported.

Fakedown Blog Insider Scoop #1!

Everyone on the east coast was getting pumped and ready for Furthur's long awaited show that Furthur was playing at Stroudsburg. Because they have played venues such as Penn Speak and the Bushkill Outs Mountain Art Center before everyone knows how much Phil and Bob and Jill love the hicksville / white trash region of Pennsylvania.

This very night, Furthur decided to rewarded their fans who have seen Furthur a lot and even liked some of Furthur's previous side projects such as the Benevuto/Russo Duo,  En Vogue and others, by playing a special acoustic show which Furthur has never done before!

As we all know, that night Furthur played one of the best acoustic shows ever seen in history since all of my years drifting and dreaming on tour (all three of them newb'd!!!) and everyone lived happily ever after.

Fakedown Blog Insider Scoop #2!

RREBK!!!!

That's right loyal blog readists. RAILROAD EARTH AND BILLY KRTUZEMANAMAM ALL PLAYING TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME!!!

This went down at the headiest venue on the West coast, in the city of San Francisco which is in the state of California that I thought was disconnected from the United States like in that documentary but regardless Railroad Earth and the former drummer of The Dead 2009 Billy K jammed together in one of the most legendary shows!!

Fakedown Blog Insider Scoop #3

So you guys should feel lucky and happy today because you're about to get an inside scoop that hasnt even happened yet!

Railroad Earth will be playing New Years Eve in Denver from the 29th to the 31st! Thanks for reading!

Here are some pictures from my recent shows.

Primus and Mucca Pazza - Montclair NJ 10-9-10

Primus SUCKS!

I got really upset at this show honestly at this show. There were so many phans yelling about Primus sucking and why would they say such a mean thing about Primus and still go to a Primus concent?

It doesn't make sense I know that at a Americana-inspired show such as Railroad Earth, a band which was never a bluegrass group, rather an Americana-folk rock jam band who could play bluegrass better than most bluegrass playing bands who like bluegrass but were still able to sound like themselves and even more so progressively than an progressive band would but at their concerts people actually like the band and would never say that they suck!

I like Primus a lot. They made us all hungry at the beginning of the set with the song Pudding Time - I LOVE getting those in my lunches (groundscore'd!) Another cool song they played was called Is It Luck which reminds me of the time that I was lucky and got a sweet rail spot just by going in front of some Deadheads who had been waiting there for hours! (Line cutt'd)! Then I saw some girl who was drinking too much and had to go make sure she stopped because I didn't want her to get sick. Turned out she hadn't been drinking just hanging out with some girl named Molly??? Weirddd not sure why your friend would let you get so drunk.

But anyways, I liked the Primus concert a lot because they had the best drummer in the world, Jay Lane, who was originally from Furthur who are awesome because Bob Weir and Phil Lesh play in that band. I dont know why Primus didnt play any Grateful Dead songs - seems like they would at least do a really sweet Grateful Dead song by the Grateful Dead - some really cool ones would be: Tomorrow Never Knows, When I Paint My Masterpiece, Johnny B. Goode, Freebird, Corrina, or Bird In a House.

Hopefully next time Primus will show some more respect to their roots of their drummer (I don't even know either of the other guys in the band honestly) and someone kept yelling that their guitarist was possessed which was really strange he seemed fine to me but anyway their drummers roots should be respected more and play some Grateful Dead songs that Furthur puts their unique style on.

Either way, Primus DOES NOT SUCK.

Railroad Earth announces a new album by Railroad Earth called Railroad Earth but it's an album

The long wait is finally over!

Today Railroad Earth's new album: Railroad Earth was produced and made into an album by the band Railroad Earth and it comes out today so you can buy and listen to it at your local record shop.

While the band spent many years trying to record an album only to realize that you need things like talent, a recording studio, fans, and street cred, they finally put together a masterpiece like nobody else ever has performed.

Now I've had this album for months, but if you guys haven't gotten it yet than you totally should.

Here are the tracks off the album plus a little review of what the music is like. All of these tracks can be listened to through your ears or I guess just read the lyrics somewhere (not here) if you're deaf. But that's not recommended when talking about Railroad Earth's new album Railroad Earth by Railroad Earth.

1. Long Walk Home (this song is about how I get home from school while getting home on the way home)
2. The Jupiter & the 119 (this song is about outer space and the 119 total fans that Railroad Earth has)
3. Black Elk Speaks (this song is about jesus)
4. Day on the Sand (this song is about how Railroad Earth's lead guitarist and sexpot Todd Sheaffer learned how to count)
5. Lone Croft Farewell (I haven't listened to this song yet since someone tweeted me on my formspring while reading my blackberry and I got distracted so tell me if you like it I guess)
6. Too Much Information (just an epic song honestly it's better than that Beatles album with the General and his band)
7. Spring-Heeled Jack (the tragic story of someone who died on Railroad Earth tour)
8. On the Banks (a ripoff of Warren's classic "On the Banks of the Deep End")
9. Potter’s Field (where Grace plants her plants)

Why You Should Ride the Rails

So as many of you fellow jam band, reggae, and bluegrass enthusiasts might know, at many concerts there's a rail in front of the stage that only the coolest and sweetest and most connected phans get to ride.

For everyone's benefit I've made a list of the top 10 reasons why you should ride the rail.

1. The band gets to see you! It's really important that the band you're seeing knows you by face and hopefully by name. Face = the rail, and name = the backstage, if you're as connected as I am.

2. The sound quality is the best on the rail.

3. The chicks are the best on the rail.

4. There's the most space to get down on the rail lots of room to dance!

5. You can get the best shots on your cell phone iphone video camera blackberry on the rail.

6. There's a protected space in front of you so that when you're tweeting the set list to all your brahs nobody knocks your phone out of your hands.

7. Everyone will see you on the rail and know how cool you are and be super jealous!

8. You can brag the next day about riding the rail to all your friends in high school.

9. What would jesus do? He'd ride the rail.

Finally the number 10 and most important reason to ride the rail is.....

10. Railroad Earth has the word RAIL and RIDE in it!!! Uber heady!!!!

Thanks everyone for reading!

Feel free to contact the Fakedown Blog to set up an interview. I'll type out all the questions beforehand and send them to you - no worries about me changing the questions to get a good answer!

Review: Railroad Earth 9-18-2010 Minneapolis

Good evening jam monkeys! Today I reviewed probably the epicest show that the state of Minnasotaville has ever seen.

Of course the band played was obviously Railroad Earth. This was my 34th show on the Railroad so you can understand how pumped I was and the energy level that I had flowed or flew through the band and my ears and eyes into the crowd like a white hot burst of raging level energy and stuff.

The earthicans started the show with an unconventional choice: "Tuning". This lyricless masterpiece is often played by the EARTH a lot and they play it all the time. I dont thinks that others bands do this because it is in the unique EARTH style as they have musicians in their band Railroad Earth playing it.

They moved from a heady Tuning into a jazzy Where Songs Begin which I thought was cool because this was where the song began at the beginning. So most of the 15 people at the show so far really got into it. There was this one guy raging next to me in some sort of sweet hippie concert chair. He was so into it that his eyes were closed and he wasn't breathing a lot or at all really. I was going to help him but fortunately the song 420 began after that which was intimate and epic and talks about how much Railroad Earth supports Hitler as he was born on 420 in some year before Railroad Earth began so it doesn't matter rock on Railroad drivers!

Next was the heady power pack combo of Bird In a House -> Colorado. This was appropriate for a few reasons because people from Minnesota are like birds trapped in their homes as they dont really know how doors work yet. Also Colorado is a state just like Minnesota. Next I got distracted as the Jonas Brothers were posting naked pictures on Twitter so I stopped paying attention and somehow got beaten over the head by some guy who said I cut in line! I interviewed Billy Kruetzman from the Dead 2009 so who cares right?!!

Railroad next played the song Seven Story Mountain which was awesome because it was played by Railroad Earth and Todd's lines cut through the crowd (which was now doubled from 15 to 7) like a butter knife through jelly. Next was an intense Storms -> Bread and Water -> Black Elk Speaks suite which is probably better than China-Rider or Scarlet-Fire or Help-Slip-Franklins after all Ive never been backstage when that was played so the first songs must be better right? Long live Railroad!

Though we all know how sweet Railroad Earth is the band Railroad Earth who rocks and they're awesome sometimes you have to be serious. I saw this one girl who was 23 getting really drunk and drinking too much. I managed to snap a picture of her so that you guys can know I made the right decision right??

But yeah so she was drinking too much she had like three beers so I made her stop and took her outside and called an ambulance so she'd be ok. I didnt want her to get tipsy around me because thats not what good guys do at an Earth concert!!

Railroad ended their legendary set with Elko -> Peace on Earth which made sense because Earth is a word that means something I don't know but it's in Railroad Earth and that always means it's the best music out there and Minneapolis will never be the sames!

Review: Phish 10-10-2010 Broomfield

The aquarium opened up its first show since Jones Beach in Broomfield, Colorado.

I wasn't allowed to go to the show since it was too far from my house and high school, but I'm going to review it anyway.

Phish played lots of popular songs but didn't play that many songs just playing twelve songs in total not like my favorite band Railroad Earth which plays at least 15 every time ((stat'd)).

Phish opened up the show by playing a song dedicated to their bass player Mike Gordon who plays bass guitar in the band Phish. The heady jams and tribal primal energies washed over the crowd to the tasty beats of this song.

There was another song or two after that but I was too busy posting on Twitter to catch the stream of what these epic level stadium exploding jam band was playing. Then they played a groove song into fee which can only refer to the price of tickets which are way too expensive for someone without a job. Maybe I can get backstage with them next tour??? Did you know I interviewed Billy Kruetzman?!!

Anyway I disgressing. The next two songs were Makipusa Policeman -> My Problem Right there. While its obvious to say how tasty and tight those jams were I still think Railroad Earth could have played them better. Custied!!!

Then Phish played another song and the name of the song was Slave to the Traffic Light. This song is racist and offensive to those who were slaves back when people were slaves, mostly at Disco Biscuits shows I think but I don't know my teacher started crying when I asked him about it so but still anyways like Phish played a good song about both car safety and slavery so we learned a lot. I interviewed Phish's trampoline after the show which I'll post about laterz!!!!

Phish also played Julius and Loving Cup but it was too late for me so I had to go to bed.

Here's a picture of the stage that is awesome just like Railroad Earth.
